Cold Front Moving Into Colorado

20-Degree Drop Expected For Front Range

Thursday afternoon Denver hit the 90s again, for the 71st time this year. Although, a big change is arriving overnight.

Clouds will continue passing over and may drop just a little bit of rain. Through the early morning hours the wind will become stronger as the front itself moves through dropping temperatures into the 50s.

The best rain chance will be in the central and northern mountains, although a light shower can't be overruled for Denver early Friday morning. To start your day Friday expect a breeze, clouds, and temperatures near 53 first thing in the morning. The clouds will stick around through the day, but the breeze will drop.

Temperatures Friday afternoon will only be in the low to mid 70s -- nearly 20 degrees cooler than Thursday and the coolest since mid June.

The sky will clear Saturday morning allowing temperatures to drop into the 40s, but a warm-up will quickly follow. Saturday's high will be in the upper 70s with 80s returning Sunday. The weekend will be sunny and will stay dry for the Bronco game. Temperatures for the game will be mostly in the upper 70s.

Early next week will briefly hit 90 again before another, cooler system pushes through at midweek.
