The Perseid meteor shower is underway, often considered the best meteor shower of the year.By looking to the sky away from city lights tonight, you may see more than 20 per hour under optimal sky conditions. This year however, the brightness of the full Sturgeon moon may hinder visibility at times.
Quiet Weather Weekend
The work week will wind down with more sunshine and heat. Highs today will run in the mid- to upper-80s to near 90-degrees across the Front Range. Few changes will be seen in the overall pattern this weekend. Temperatures will stay close to 90 degrees. There could be a few late day storms both Saturday and Sunday.Temperatures will run at or slightly above the seasonal average of 88 degrees through next week. Comfortably cool overnight lows will consistently run in the 50s to near 60 degrees.
