By the time Wilma formed in the Caribbean Sea, many wondered what happened to the "V" storm.

Hurricane Vince formed from a non-tropical area of low pressure in the eastern Atlantic, but took on tropical characteristics with time. Bu October 9th, it was declared a tropical storm, located 515 miles east-southeast of the Azores. Later that day it became a hurricane.

Vince accelerated and lost strength over the next few days, weakening to a tropical depression by the 11th. The depression moved onshore near Huelva, Spain. This was the first known tropical cyclone to make a landfall in the country of Spain.
