Denver Sets Record High Of 102 Degrees

POSTED: 6:59 pm MDT July 16, 2005

If you thought it was really hot Satuday, you were right. The high temperature recorded at Denver International Airport was 102 degrees, which set a new record. It was the 12th straight day that Denver topped 90 degrees.

The old record high in Denver for July 16 was 101 degrees in 2003.

Meanwhile Grand Junction tied a record high set in 2003 of 102 degrees. Saturday was the fifth day in a row of temperatures above 100 degrees in Grand Junction.

A cold front is forecast to bring cooler temperatures to much of the state by Monday before temperatures will begin rising again.
