Frigid Temperatures Follow The Snow

Coldest Weather Since Last February!

POSTED: 5:57 am MST December 5, 2011
UPDATED: 6:25 pm MST December 5, 2011

The snow has ended, but the very cold air remains across Colorado for tonight and early Tuesday! Temperatures will tumble below zero just about statewide tonight, with some 20 to 30 below zero readings in the mountain valleys. Check The Current Conditions Where You Are

The readings tonight will make this the coldest night since early February across the state. By 9 pm temperatures will be near ZERO, and overnight lows will be range from 5 to 10 below in the metro area. The coldest weather will be in the North Park area around Walden - lows there might hit minus 30! Despite the cold start, Tuesday will be the beginning of a brief warm-up – 20s expected by afternoon and a few 40s back by Wednesday.

Another cold front will arrive Thursday to knock temperatures down a bit, but this next front will strike a much more glancing blow to the state. Readings will dip back into the 20s and 30s, with a few flurries possible. A longer lasting warm-up will be here by the weekend with milder 40s expected. 7-Day: See The Warming Trend
