DENVER -- Even though it's hot, you cannot just water anytime. Watering rules are still in effect for most of the metro area.
Water police in Aurora and Denver have issued more than 500 notices and $7,000 in fines in just the last five days.
For the more than 1 million customers of Denver and Aurora water, you're only allowed to water your lawn two days a week.
Lawns at odd-numbered addresses may be watered on Saturday and Wednesday.
Lawns at even-numbered addresses may be watered on Sunday and Thursday. And that's only before 10 a.m. and after 6 p.m.
Watering on Tuesdays and Fridays is not allowed.
