Sun Returns, Melting Continues

Snow Returns By Midweek

Heading back to work? Traveling home from the holidays? The weather will be fine, with a couple of exceptions.

The weather around Colorado will be pleasant, though still a bit cooler than average. We are expecting plenty of sunshine across the state and afternoon temperatures will be about 5 to 10 degrees warmer compared to Sunday.

The next several days will be dry and cool, with a slight chance of snow along the Front Range and eastern plains on Wednesday night into Thursday morning. This approaching storm system appears to be coming together as a fairly weak storm, so we're not expecting much snow accumulation and the temperature drop in the wake of the cold front will be minimal.

Temperatures will drop form the mid-30s on Wednesday into the upper 20s to low 30s for Thursday.

The region will be dry as we had toward New Year's Eve. Temperatures will return to seasonal averages by the holiday weekend.

Heading to the high country? Snow returns to the mountain forecast from Tuesday through Friday, and the upcoming holiday weekend is likely to be dry.

If your travel plans take you to the Great Lakes, New England, or the mid-Atlantic states today, then you will want to check with your airline. Tough travel conditions are likely, and flights could be delayed.
