Mild Start To The Weekend

Calm And Dry Weather Continues Across Colorado

POSTED: 5:51 am MST November 20, 2009
UPDATED: 5:05 pm MST November 20, 2009

What a beautiful end to the week! Temperatures warmed into the upper 50s along the Front Range Friday afternoon.

Friday night will be mostly clear and chilly with lows in the upper 20s. Lows in the mountains will be even colder with teens overnight.

Clouds are increasing in northwestern Colorado as the next storm approaches the region. No rain or snow is expected tonight, but a few snow showers will develop in the central and northern mountains Saturday.

Saturday will start out sunny in the Denver metro area with temperatures climbing into the mid 50s by the afternoon. The skies will become partly cloudy in the afternoon as the storm gets closer to the Front Range.

The cold front associated with this storm will swing through the state Sunday, bringing a better chance for snow in the high country. The Front Range will be much cooler as the storm moves in Sunday and Monday, but moisture will be limited. Only light rain and snow are expected late Sunday through Monday in the Denver metro area.

Temperatures will drop to the low 40s Monday afternoon, but will quickly warm back up to the 50s by Tuesday. Thanksgiving driving conditions look great with mostly sunny skies and highs in the 50s Wednesday through Friday.

The two-week forecast from the Climate Prediction Center is for slightly above-average temperatures and near-normal precipitation for the Denver area.

This most recent storm brought Denver's precipitation totals to near normal for the month. The metro area is still almost three inches above normal for the year.
