Denver Continues To Thaw Out

Midweek Temperatures To Return To Normal

POSTED: 5:25 am MST November 16, 2009
UPDATED: 5:29 pm MST November 17, 2009

Snow thawing weather returned to Colorado on Tuesday as highs broke the 50 degree mark.

It will continue as a typical mid-November week, with temperatures hovering in the upper 40s and low 50s. Wednesday looks to be the warmest day of the week, with highs close to 54 in Denver.

Look for mostly sunny skies each day this week. A weak cold front will swing through on Thursday, only cooling temperatures by a few degrees. It looks like the moisture will hold off for a couple of days.

By week's end, another storm system may move through the area, bringing a chance of snow for late Saturday into Monday. Right now, this storm system does not appear to pack the punch of the last two, but we will continue to watch it as those last storms packed a bigger punch than the models indicated this early into the forecast.

The two-week forecast from the Climate Prediction Center is for slightly above-average temperatures and near-normal precipitation for the Denver area.

This most recent storm brought Denver's precipitation totals to near normal for the month. The metro area is still almost three inches above normal for the year.
