One week ago, the metro area was digging out of more than 2 feet of snow and the eastern plains were under a blizzard warning. Today, the metro area almost reached a record high.

The thermometer topped out at 75 degrees at the Denver International Airport Friday afternoon. The record for this date is 79, set back in 1934. Denver hit a high of 77 degrees on Thursday, breaking the previous record of 76 degrees.

Winds have been breezy today, but will calm down through Friday evening. The night will be mostly clear with lows near 40.

The mild and dry weather will hold through the start of the weekend. Saturday will be sunny and warm with highs in the upper 60s to near 70. Clouds will begin pushing into the high country late tomorrow ahead of the next storm system.

Sunday will be partly cloudy and cooler along the Front Range with highs in the low 60s. A slight chance for rain and snow will arrive Sunday night with rain showers continuing into Monday afternoon.
