A *WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY* is also in effect for the central mountains. Five to 10 inches of snow will be possible in the southwestern mountains at elevations between 7,000 and 10,000 feet through early Friday morning. If you're heading west on Friday, watch for icy spots in the mountains. The Eisenhower Tunnel and Vail Pass have been reporting icy and snowpack conditions after Thursday night's snow. The sun will attempt to break out across the eastern plains on Friday and temperatures will warm into the mid to upper 40s. A few flurries will be possible in the metro area on Friday, but little to no accumulation is expected.A little snow would be nice because it's definitely needed, especially in the high country. Many more ski resorts will open this Thanksgiving weekend and so far, they haven't received much help from Mother Nature. If we do get some snow in Denver, it will only be the second measureable snowfall of the season. So far, the metro area has only received one-tenth of an inch of snow this season and at this rate, it could be one of the driest Novembers on record.
