Frequently Asked Questions About Alert Radios

What kind of warnings can I receive on my radio?

Any official National Weather Service watch, advisory, or warning will be heard on your radio if they are for your county. In addition, any civil defense, national emergency, chemical spill, or other non-weather related warnings can be relayed through your radio via the National Weather Service.

How come my radio dies every three days?

Your radio should be plugged into a power outlet. The three AA batteries are for your backup power in case the electricity goes out. If you radio is "dying" every three days, it could be because you're operating on battery backup. Check to make sure that you have your power cord plugged into the correct port on the back of your radio. (It should be plugged into the DC Jack, not in the PC jack) Also, just like changing the batteries on your smoke detector, make a practice to change these batteries twice a year.

What if I have technical problems?

If you have technical problems, please contact Midland Radio's technical services at 816-462-0459 or you can e-mail them at technicalservices@midlandradio.com.
