Sunny, Spring-Like Saturday Skies

Warm, Dry Trend Moving In For Next Several Days

By Weather Intern Jill Mullican

Denver -- After a chilly, wet first half of May, temperatures are looking up as a ridge of high pressure builds in to the area bringing above average highs and beautiful, sunny skies.

This year started incredibly dry for Denver, with the Mile High City receiving only .75 inches of precipitation through the end of April.

May is making quiet the turnaround, however, with moisture falling 10 out of the last 16 days. While the water we have received has certainly been beneficial, unfortunately we are still more than 3.5 inches behind in the rainfall department for 2008.

Our next chance of rain looks to be moving in around midweek, so we will continue to fall further behind as we approach Memorial Day.

The warm temperatures will be a nice change after the unsettled weather we have had this month so far.

May 2008 has been almost 5 degrees cooler than average, so highs in the 80s and sunny skies will be a welcome change.

May is still one of our most active weather months, however, so stay tuned to 7NEWS and TheDenverChannel.com for the latest on this very variable pattern.
