AURORA, Colo. - A pothole on eastbound I-70 in Aurora is wide and deep enough that it is endangering motorists, and drivers should expect delays while the road is repaired on Thursday.
"For the safety of the traveling public this work must be performed immediately," said Crystal Morgan from the Colorado Department of Transportation. "Motorists traveling in this area should expect heavy delays while work is being done."
The pothole is on the eastbound side of I-70 just past the Tower Road on-ramp in Aurora. The construction work is expected to begin around 12:30 p.m. Thursday afternoon.
CDOT officials encouraged motorists to find an alternate route, and "Go Slow in The Cone Zone" to help ensure the safety of construction and traffic workers.
