Women's March in Denver: RTD will have extra buses, light rail this Saturday

DENVER – The City of Denver is making sure it's prepared to handle the thousands of people expected to participate in the Women's March this Saturday.

The Regional Transportation District announced Thursday it will add backup service in anticipation of the big crowds.

RTD will be adding buses, cars as follows:

  • Flatiron Flyer: RTD will monitor and back up regularly scheduled service with extra buses assigned as needed leaving Downtown Boulder Station and all stops along this route.
  • Free MallRide: Extra Mall Shuttles are planned to move participants between Union Station and Civic Center Station (Colfax & Broadway).
  • Local routes and the 120x: RTD will monitor and back up regular service with extra buses that will be assigned as needed.
  • Light Rail: On all D and H trains an extra car will be added for additional capacity.
  • B Line: There is ample parking at Westminster Station (near Federal Blvd. and 71st Ave.) and capacity on this hourly service to Union Station at :43 after the hour.

The following bus routes will be rerouted starting at approximately 9:30 a.m. for the Women's March: 0, 1, 6, 8, 9, 10, 15, 15L, 16, 19, 20, 28, 32, 38, 43, 44, 48, 52, as well as the Free MallRide.

RTD will also experience detours for the 17th Street protest scheduled for Friday for the following routes: 0, 1, 6, 8, 9, 10, 15, 15L, 16, 16L, 19, 20, 28, 32, 38, 43, 44, 48, 52, 83L, as well as the Free MallRide.
