DENVER -- Several Colorado highways were closed as a snowstorm moved through Colorado late Thursday afternoon.
Interstate 70
I-70 at mile marker 259, north of Morrison, was closed eastbound due to several spun out vehicles and crashes. A Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) camera was able to capture the moment two people were helping a driver get out from the left-hand shoulder of the highway.
Eastbound I-70 reopened at Genesee Park at around 5:50 p.m.
The Colorado State Patrol - Golden division said westbound I-70 was closed from Golden to Genesee due to the heavy snow and arctic winds. The highway reopened at around 6:08 p.m., according to CSP Golden officials.

Multiple crashes were also reported on eastbound I-70 at Lookout Mountain, CDOT said.
Highway 93
Northbound Highway 93 was also closed from Golden due to "multiple slide offs and crashes," the CSP Golden division said in a tweet. A CSP car was hit, according to officials. There were no injuries from this crash, according to CSP spokesman Josh Lewis.
US 6
US 6 was closed at Clear Creek Canyon Tunnel No. 3 due to a crash. CDOT officials are advising travelers to expect delays in the area.
Interstate 25
A 10-car pile up was reported on I-25 at the Larkspur exit (mile marker 174) at around 4:50 p.m. in Castle Rock, the CSP Castle Rock division tweeted.
Some of the cars crashed at MP174 are blocking lanes of traffic. If coming out of Monument N/B I25 slow down and proceed with caution.

UPDATE: Drivers involved in multi-car collision are saying that they are closer to MP172 N/B which is near the old rest areas.

CSP Castle Rock said in a tweet the crash "is contained to the right shoulder and right lane," and that traffic was "moving very slowly in the left lane."
The crash was cleared and all lanes of I-25 at the Larkspur exit were back open at around 5:30 p.m.
Other closures
Boulder Canyon was closed at around 3:55 p.m. due to multiple crashes and Boulder County but reopened at about 5: 45 p.m., according to Boulder County Sheriff's officials.
Cities and Counties on accident alert
Unincorporated Boulder, Douglas, Jefferson, Elbert and western Arapahoe Counties are on accident alert, according to CSP Golden.
Aurora, Broomfield, Centennial, Lone Tree, Lakewood and Longmont are also on accident alert, according to city officials.
Accident alerts are issued in those times when weather conditions are so severe State Troopers are not able to respond to the large volume of vehicle crashes.
