GREELEY, Colo. (AP) -- The Colorado Department of Transportation will replace about 1 percent of the state's guardrails after learning that they were installed incorrectly.

The Greeley Tribune reports that officials discovered after a crash near Johnstown that 327 of Colorado's 42,828 guardrails were installed with parts that were not compatible with each other and could be dangerous.

According to a CDOT press release, officials have already replaced 126 of the guardrails and believe 95 percent of the remaining repairs will be finished by the end of the year.
