Coroner IDs woman killed in SUV crash on side of I-70; 3 children and one adult injured

The Summit County coroner has identified a woman killed in a SUV crash on Interstate 70 that also injured an adult and three children.

The 2000 Ford SUV was pulling a camper trailer eastbound on I-70 east of Copper Mountain when it crashed about 11:30 a.m. Friday. The driver allegedly lost control, veered off the freeway and rolled several times near mile-marker 198, Coroner Timothy Keeling said in a news release.

Keeling identified the deceased SUV passenger as Miranda Schumann, 26, of Buena Vista, Colorado.

An adult and three children, ages 9, 13 and 14, were injured, Colorado State Patrol Trooper Josh Lewis said. He said the injuries ranged from serious to critical.

The driver, who was not hurt, was questioned, but not charged and the crash investigation continues.
