EB I-70 reopened after semi trucks collide near Watkins

WATKINS, Colo. - Eastbound Interstate 70 was closed Thursday morning after two semi trucks collided, witnesses told 7NEWS.

The crash happened near milepost 300 -- which is in Adams County, near Watkins and Manilla Road, the Colorado State Patrol said.

Witnesses told 7NEWS that the driver of a FedEx truck crossed the median and collided with another semi.

By the time the chain-reaction crash was done, three semi trucks and one car had crashed.

Three people were taken to the hospital, according to 7NEWS photographer Brad Bogott at the scene.

Traffic in the area is being diverted onto Manilla Road to get around the crash.
