DENVER - All lanes of Interstate 225 are now reopened at Parker following a crash and fuel spill, but traffic remains slow in the area.
Although all the lanes reopened at 8 a.m., 7NEWS traffic reporter Jayson Luber reports a delay of about 30 minutes remains in the area.
The crash involving the semi and a Honda was reported at 4:34 a.m. just south of Parker Road, Colorado State Patrol spokesman Nate Reid said.
The southbound side was closed for nearly two hours at Parker Road, although the cars originally backed up behind the crash were allowed to get by on the shoulder. During the closure, Parker Road was jammed with the diverted traffic.
Reid said the driver of the Honda was being taken to the hospital as a precaution and emergency personnel on the scene dealt with a leak of about 20 gallons of diesel fuel from the truck.
