I-25 Closure Scheduled Monday Night

Project Will Add Lanes To Valley Highway

UPDATED: 10:18 am MST January 12, 2004

Work on the Colorado Boulevard bridge over Interstate 25 will result in all lanes of the interstate being closed Monday night.

T-Rex Bridge Work

Transportation Expansion Project highway crews are tearing down the bridge in order to replace it and the crews will be tearing down the final section of the bridge.

Interstate 25 was scheduled to be closed three nights in a row, but crews are ahead of schedule and should have all the work completed by 5:30 a.m. Tuesday. The work began Sunday night.

The Valley Highway will be closed in both directions between Santa Fe Drive and Hampden Avenue while the work is done, but one lane of traffic will be maintained in each direction of Colorado Boulevard over the bridge.

The Colorado Boulevard Bridge is being rebuilt in phases so it will remain open to traffic during the reconstruction process.

Demolition of the south portion of the Hampden Avenue Bridge is scheduled for the nights of Sunday, Jan. 18, through Tuesday, Jan. 20. As with the Colorado Avenue Bridge, this work will start at 9 p.m. each night and one lane of traffic will be maintained in each direction of Hampden Avenue over the bridge. I-25 will be closed in both directions beneath the bridge.

The Hampden Avenue Bridge is also being rebuilt in phases so it can remain open to traffic while it is being rebuilt.

The T-Rex project will add one through lane in each direction from Logan Street to I-225 (for a total of four lanes each way) when it is completed in 2006.
