I-70 From C-470 To Colfax Closed This Weekend

DENVER -- Interstate 70 will be closed from C-470 to Colfax Avenue all weekend for FasTracks construction.A FasTracks spokeswoman said all lanes of eastbound I-70 will be closed from Friday night to Monday at 5:30 a.m.A detour is available from I-70 at exit 261 to Interstate 25 an then back onto I-70. Truckers with loads of 30,000 or more are required to exit I-70 at the Genesee exit (254) and take U.S. 40 east.
Workers are building a light rail line that will connect downtown Denver to the Jefferson County Justice Center.Kathy Berumen, Denver Transit Construction Group Spokeswoman told 7NEWS it is spending $10 million a month on the construction.
