Progress Continues At Plum Creek Parkway Interchange

CDOT opened the latest part of the new and improved interchange at Plum Creek Parkway at I-25 in Castle Rock. The ramp from Plum Creek to north bound I-25 is one part of the redesign of the entire interchange. Eventually the interchange will have a traditional look with four on and off ramps. With the opening of the new ramp at Plum Creek the old and dangerous ramp from Wilcox Street to north bound I-25 next to the cheap gas station is now closed.

As part of the work a new rail road bridge just west of the intersection was built and I-25 was widened in the area.

The reconstructed interchange is part of a larger traffic management plan to build a beltway loop road around Castle Rock. The road will eventually continue west and connect to Coachline Road.

CDOT and the town of Castle Rock combined money to pay for the $29.5 million project. The scheduled completion date is December 2009.
