DENVER -- The Blizzard of 2003 has created a bump in the road, literally, for crews working on the T-REX project.
The demolition of the Logan Street Bridge, originally scheduled for Sunday has been postponed because road crews will first have to dig out in order to continue work.
Work on the Logan Street Bridge structure is tentatively scheduled to continue Tuesday through Thursday, March 25-27, but this is subject to change due to weather and other considerations, officials said.
Schedulers will re-evaluate all factors on Monday to decide when crews can return to work and completethe $1.67 billion construction project on time and on budget.
Drivers traveling within the T-REX corridor are asked to slow down and be vigilant to the very real possibility of running into massive potholes.
T-REX crews will be fixing these potholes in the coming days and weeks, but in the meantime, motorists are asked to exercise "extreme caution."
"As with many roads across the state, the recent weather introduced moisture into the pavement, which later froze and thawed. The expansion and contraction associated with this phenomenon creates cracks in asphalt that later become potholes," T-REX officials said.
