The flames burned a whopping 230,000 acres by Sunday evening.
The three largest Southern California fires were still burning strong Tuesday evening.
Fueled by powerful Santa Ana winds, the Thomas Fire scorched an estimated 31,000 acres in Ventura County by Tuesday morning.
According to the Ventura County Fire Department, the Thomas Fire was first reported Monday evening north of the city of Santa Paula.
As of Wednesday the fires had burned nearly 170,000 acres and destroyed about 3,500 homes and business. At least 21 people have died.

The blaze was ignited by a lightning strike at the Okefenokee National Wildlife Refuge on April 6. And it's scorched nearly 130,000 acres.
"It's very difficult to find a small piece of evidence, if there is any evidence," Kral said
One person had to be taken to the hospital for smoke inhalation following a large house fire in Thornton.
It's unclear if they were intentionally set.
One of the fires grew from 10 acres to about 500 acres in less than a day, thanks to strong wind gusts in the area.
Toys 'R' Us is working with the truck's manufacturer, Dynacraft, to determine a cause.
