Couple sells BBQ sauce to help Colorado kids
WINDSOR, Colo. - A Windsor couple is selling their own Bubba Shane BBQ sauce to help foster kids in Colorado.
They were inspired after adopting their own child, 22-month-old Ryleigh, who they affectionately nicknamed "Bubba."
"When he ended up getting nicknamed Bubba we were always joking that he'd either end up being a country singer or he'd have to open a BBQ restaurant," said his dad, Andrew Wiltzius.
Approximately 4,000 Colorado kids are currently in foster care and nearly 300 are sitting on a waiting list.
"They are wonderful little people just like the kids next door," Wiltzius said.
For each bottle of Bubba Shane BBQ sauce sold, one dollar will be donated to Adopt Colorado Kids, a Windsor-based non-profit dedicated to help connect waiting kids with families.
