If you take an Uber this New Year's Eve, don't be surprised if your driver is retired.

Almost a quarter of Uber drivers nationwide are at least 50 years old, according to the ride-sharing service. The data shows Uber is not just for Millennials, anymore.

At the age of 63, Uber driver Cathie Eberhard will tell you she's getting up there, but so is her odometer -- at 95,007 miles.

Eberhard drives customers five days a week to supplement her Social Security.

"There are times, like when I heard a young couple from out of town in the back seat kind of whispering to each other, 'Look how old she is!'" said Eberhard.

But there is one rider who never pokes fun at her age. Dwan Witt and his wife Jane are 90 years young.

"We need a ride and Uber is the one," said Dwan, when asked why he uses Uber.

They go everwhere together, from doctors appointments to family reunions. At this point, Eberhard has become an honorary member of the Witt family.

She even taught the Witts how to request an Uber on their cell phones, if she's not available to drive them. The Witts say Uber gives them a sense of independence, and a guaranteed ride home.

To qualify as a driver, Uber requires applicants pass physicals. Some health reasons that disqualify people include hypertension, certain diabetic conditions and morbid obesity.
