DENVER -- If you haven't taken the ski train up to Winter Park, you still have time -- the train will run through the last Sunday in March.

Amtrak is adding a trip on Monday, Feb. 20 -- President's Day -- because of the high demand.

Since its big comeback in January, 15,000 riders have taken the train.

"It's a win-win for everyone," said CDOT spokesman Bob Wilson.

CDOT officials estimate the train takes 250 cars off I-70 each day that it runs between Denver's Union Station and the ski resort.

CDOT partnered with Amtrak and the City of Denver to build a new train platform at Winter Park to get the train back in service this year after it was absent for several years.

Tickets are still available through the end of March. They go for  $39 one way, $59 for a roundtrip.
