Don't be alarmed if a U-Haul trucks brings holiday packages to your door.

The moving company rents equipment to major shipping companies like FedEx, UPS and even the United States Postal Service. On the heels of a record Cyber Monday, the delivery demand is higher than ever, so shipping companies rent U-Haul trucks to keep up with the holiday orders.

But, neighbors in some states were concerned when they saw drivers delivering packages in the rentals.

"They should actually get excited, because that probably means there is a present -- there's a good thing coming," said Trey Bryan, Marketing Company President for U-Haul. "For sure, don't freak out."

The vehicles range in size, from cargo vans to the traditional U-Haul box trucks.

Companies like FedEx and UPS use magnets to label the trucks, typically on the driver's side door. Drivers are required to wear the uniform for their respective companies and carry company-issued identification.

"We live here, we work here, and we're happy to help out in any way we can," said Bryan. "Part of the way we do that is to provide trucks and trailers to shipping companies to make their deliveries this time of year."

A UPS spokesman says the company has been renting equipment for 50 years.

But, one reason you may notice more U-Hauls on the roads is online purchases and the increased number of deliveries.
