Help Write How-To Manual

Site Helps Solve Everyday Problems

POSTED: 2:28 pm MDT October 11, 2005

Do people call you a know-it-all? Are they always coming to you for advice? If so -- here's a Web site for you.

WikiHow.com is a collaborative writing project that hopes to build the world's largest how-to manual. The site gives free and useful instructions to help people solve the problems of everyday life.

Anyone can write and edit how-to articles on the site. You can create a new page to write about how to do something. Once the page is submitted, other visitors can edit, improve or change the page.

The articles are listed in categories such as personal car, finance, and computers and electronics. There are tips on everything from how to avoid getting a computer virus to how to get melted candle wax out of a carpet.
