BOSTON -- It's time to do a little spring cleaning. Instead of throwing out your old things, why not give them away online?

FreeCycle.org has community-based forums where people give and get stuff for free.

When you have something to give away -- whether it's a chair, a fax machine or piano -- you simply send an e-mail offering it to members of your Freecycle group.

Offerings range from slightly used lawnmowers to double baby strollers -- all being given away for free.

Looking for that one piece of china to complete your set? Users can also posts items they want in hopes that another user has it to give away.

Membership is free, and there is one rule -- everything posted on the site has to be free, too.

There are also a number of non-profit organizations registered with FreeCycle looking for things they need.
