DENVER -- Still have questions about the DTV conversion?Come down to our studios Tuesday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. We are located at 123 Speer Blvd., on the corner of Lincoln and Speer. (Get directions.)Denver's 7 is partnering with the district office of the Federal Communications Commission and other Denver television stations to man the DTV Walk-In Help Center.
Another walk-in center will be held on Wednesday from 11:30 a.m. until 4 p.m. at the Washington Park Recreation Center (701 S. Franklin Street in Denver). There will be additional centers, one per day during the week of the early transition in Denver through April 16, when 7NEWS makes the switch to digital. The Walk-In Help Center is designed to help television viewers understand how to set up a converter box to get the new digital signal and to register for converter box coupons.A "demo station" will be set up with televisions showing analog versus digital reception as well as ongoing demonstrations on how to hook up a DTV converter box.Feel free to bring in your own converter box and/or your small TV to go through the steps for hooking the converter box up to a television.DTV handouts, in English and Spanish, will be available, as well as troubleshooting and set-up guides on how to hook up the box with a VCR in a way that allows viewing of one station while recording another station.
