CHEYENNE, Wyo. -- A Cheyenne teenager accused of posting a nude photograph of a former girlfriend on the Internet will be charged with a felony, prosecutors in Laramie County said.Court documents allege that Franklin Lee Hocker, 18, posted a nude photograph of an ex-girlfriend on her MySpace page. He faces a felony charge of modifying computer data."What happens, of course, when teenagers break up, there's bitterness sometimes," said Laramie County District Attorney Scott Homar. He said no court hearings have been set yet in the case.
The girl reported the photo to police, and Hocker later admitted he had posted the photo on the girl's MySpace page, court records said.Hocker declined comment on the charge when contacted by The Associated Press.Homar said young people need to be aware that if they allow nude pictures of themselves to be taken that they could be posted on the Internet."That's what kids need to get through their head," Homar said."Once it's out there, it's not going anywhere."Central High School Principal Mike Strannigan said he hasn't heard about the distribution of photos becoming an issue in Cheyenne. He said students at Central High take a course that addresses dangers of Internet technology."For all the good things about it, there are all those issues that concern parents, concern educators and concern people in society," Strannigan said of the Internet.
