Getting an auto-emissions test could be a breeze with the roadside program that under way in Larimer and Weld counties.
With the RapidScreen program, roadside sensors can detect if your car is the "cleanest of the clean." If you pass, you will be mailed a form where you can complete the entire registration process without ever having to schedule a trip to an emissions testing facility, 7NEWS reported.
Drivers whose registration is due in May will be the first Coloradoans eligible.
"RapidScreen rewards motorists who have properly maintained their vehicles by allowing them to complete the entire registration process from the convenience of their own home," Said Doug Benevento of the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment.
Officials expect to add the roadside test to the Denver area within the next year or two.
