One of the beauties of being online is that you can always find some completely useless way to entertain yourself and waste a few extra hours of free time.

To find a perfect example of that theory, you need look no further than the current online obsession among bloggers: "blog tag."

Blog tag is just like the offline game of tag, but you share five things about yourself on your blog. You then "tag" five other bloggers in your post and they are encouraged to do the same.

The idea seems to have exploded once it appeared on Jeff Pulver's blog on December 10, and it is now becoming increasingly difficult to find a blog that isn't participating (or complaining about it).

While this isn’t a blog, I'll share five things and then anyone can read this can consider themselves tagged.

1) One of my favorite musical groups of all-time is the Four Seasons.

2) Adam Sandler once elbowed me in the mouth. Yes, it was accidental.

3) I once auditioned for "The Tonight Show," and was told by one of the bookers that I was "too friendly."

4) In the late 1990's I worked at an online financial news company, and part of my job involved doing a video segment that included a stock picking sock puppet.

5) My nickname in high school was "Fig."
