BOULDER, Colo. - The holiday star on Flagstaff Mountain is getting repairs after vandals ripped light bulbs and cables from its steel frame.

Craig Reynolds maintains the icon and says he believes the damage occurred after it was turned off following the Christmas holidays.

According to the Boulder Daily Camera, the star was first put up on Flagstaff Mountain in 1947 to celebrate the holidays.

This year, the star is scheduled to be turned on Nov. 18.
