Wyoming ranked No. 25 in coaches poll

LARAMIE, Wyo. - For the first time since 1988, Wyoming men's basketball is ranked in a national poll.

The Cowboys are ranked No. 25 in this week's USA Today Coaches Poll, which was released Monday.

Wyoming is off to its best start in program history with a 13-0 record this season. It is one of four unbeaten Division I men's teams in the country.

The last time they were ranked in a national poll was when Fennis Dembo and Eric Leckner played for the Cowboys.

Coach Larry Shyatt brushed off the national ranking, saying the only thing that matters is the NCAA Tournament in March.

Shyatt says his team is focused on beginning Mountain West Conference play and nothing more.

The Cowboys host Boise State on Wednesday night.
