Sochi 2014 Olympic snowboarders see halfpipe practice postponed amid weather, course concerns

SOCHI, Russia - A day before competition was set to begin, practice for snowboarding’s halfpipe events was postponed after riders complained about the condition of the venue.

Americans Shaun White and Danny Davis were among those expressing concerns the sides of the halfpipe outside Sochi were too vertical.

Monday's practice was postponed until 7:20 p.m. Sochi time, according to Yahoo!Sports because of warm temperatures during the day and to allowing cutters time to address some of the issues.

There have been other similar complaints at these games with riders complaining about the slopestyle course, which led to injuries for White and Canadian superstar Mark McMorris during practice runs last week.

American skier Bode Miller said over the weekend the downhill run was potentially lethal.
