Colorado Rockies outfielder Michael Cuddyer has been placed on the 15-day disabled list with an inflamed cervical disc, the team announced Sunday.
This comes at a major blow to the Rockies lineup that has only produced five runs in the last five games.
Cuddyer, 34 is seventh in the National League with a batting average of .319 and tenth in the NL with seven home runs. He's also knocked in 23 RBI’s.
Taking Cuddyer’s place will be fellow outfielder Charlie Blackmon from Triple-A Colorado Springs. Blackmon hit .366 with seven home runs and 23 RBI’s in the minor leagues this season.
The Rockies (19-17) are in the midst of a season-long four-game losing streak. They’ll try to end the streak against the St. Louis Cardinals on Sunday.
