Sources: Denver Nuggets resign Timofey Mozgov to a 3-year, $14 million deal

DENVER - The Denver Nuggets have resigned center Timofey Mozgov to a three-year, $14 million contract extension, according to Yahoo! Sports.

Mozgov, 27, played sparingly for the Nuggets last season appearing in just 41 games. The Russian native averaged 3.9 points, 3.1 rebounds in fewer than 9 minutes per contest.

The reserve center is likely to see more minutes with the trade of last year’s starting center Kosta Koufos to the Memphis Grizzlies.

Currently, Mozgov will play behind starter JaVale McGee.

The Nuggets acquired Mozgov in the 2011 blockbuster trade that sent Carmelo Anthony to the New York Knicks.
