Denver Nuggets owner Stan Kroenke buys land for possible stadium site in Los Angeles

Kroenke owns NFL franchise St. Louis Rams

ST. LOUIS - Denver Nuggets and Colorado Avalanche owner Stan Kroenke recently bought a stadium-sized piece of land near Los Angeles, according to The Los Angeles Times.

Kroenke purchased the 60-acre parking lot between Hollywood Park and the Los Angeles Forum in Inglewood, Calif. The land could potentially be used towards the construction of a NFL stadium, but The Times suggests that the land would be too small for the stadium to be built upon.

Kroenke owns the St. Louis Rams and he could get the team out of their lease at the Edward Jones Dome after the 2014 season, according to the newspaper.

In order for the Rams to relocate from St. Louis, three-quarters of the 32 NFL’s owners would have to back the move.
