DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. - Matt Kenseth might have won the Nationwide Series race Friday night. But it was Denver-based Kurt Busch who stole the limelight.
Kenseth was leading when the race resumed with two laps to go following a red-flag stoppage. James Buescher stayed close to Kenseth and hooked onto his back bumper as the pair of racers broke away from the pack.
Elliott Sadler, who picked up a $100,000 bonus from series sponsor Nationwide as the highest finishing driver in the "Dash 4 Cash" program, took third in the race.
But it was Busch who was generating the most buzz after the race.
Busch finished fourth in a car designed with the City Chevrolet paint scheme from the "Days of the Thunder" movie. He and the Phoenix Racing crew spent much of the race in character with Busch reciting movie lines.
Busch and his racing team got into character to raise money and awareness for post traumatic stress disorder.
Busch texted after the race, "Text AFF to 50555 to donate $10 today." and, "Pay attention over the next few days as we will work out merchandise for the car this weekend as well as auction off my suit from this wknd."
