Colorado preps basketball playoffs Great 8 recap: Denver East coach Rudy Carey wins 700 game

Semifinal games at Coors Events Center

DENVER - The last four spots in the 2013 high school basketball playoffs were set after the Great 8 games over the weekend.

On the 5A side, the Denver East Angels head coach Rudy Carey won his 700 game by rallying past the Arapahoe Warriors 55-50. Carey improved his overall record to 700-164, trailing only Dick Katte for the most career wins in the state with 876.

East will face the Legend Titans next Friday at the Coors Events Center as they held off the Fairview Knights 46-45.

On the opposite end of the bracket, the Eaglecrest Raptors will tip off against Mountain Vista Golden Eagles in the Final 4.

Starting on Thursday, Regis Jesuit will play against Grandview and Highlands Ranch will face Arapahoe in the 5A girl's semifinals at the Coors Events Center.
