Colorado Mammoth goalie Dillon Ward gets his stolen gear back

COMMERCE CITY, Colo. - Colorado Mammoth Lacrosse goal Dillon Ward has his stolen gear back.

Last week, Ward left his gear outside his apartment to air it  out. Someone stole the smelly gear, leaving Ward without gear for Saturday's playoff game.

He used borrowed gear and the team lost.

The Mammoth said a man bought a bag of gear from a group of people who appeared to be homeless.

The man said he was told it was hockey gear.

But the man, Dan Barnett, said when he opened the bag, he realized what it was.

Barnett returned the gear to the Mammoth.

The Mammoth said Ward was thrilled to get his gear back.

On Tuesday, Ward was named to Team Canada. He will compete in the FIL World Lacrosse Championships at DICK’S Sporting Goods Park in Commerce City in July.
