BOULDER, Colo. -
The Colorado Buffaloes have signed three players to the basketball team including four-star recruit Jaron Hopkins.
Hopkins is a highly recruited guard from Mesa, Arizona. He averaged 21.8 points, 7.0 rebounds, 6.0 assists and 0.8 blocks during his junior season at Chandler Basha High School.
At 6'5", 185 pounds, Hopkins was rated as the 29th best shooting guard and was the 109th best overall prospect. He chose Colorado over Arizona, University of Southern California and Colorado State among others.
"Hopkins is a big guard who can probably play anywhere from the point to the small forward in the Buffaloes offense," said Rivals.com national basketball analysis Eric Bossi.
"He's a big time athlete who puts pressure on defenders because of his ability to attack off the dribble in either transition or the half court set. Because of his length and quickness, Hopkins could develop into a high level defender."
The Buffs also signed 6' 6", 195 pound wing Tre'shaun Lexing from Tacoma, Washington and 6'7", 210 pound forward Dustin Thomas.
