DENVER - Wide receiver Andre Caldwell agreed to a new two-year deal with the Denver Broncos that was announced just minutes before the start of free agency.
"I just felt this was the best situation for me and my family coming into a system that I know," Caldwell said during a conference call Tuesday, following the announcement. "I felt like I made the most of my opportunities when they gave me a chance to play. I think I made the most out of the limited time I had last year. Hopefully I can compete for an extended role this year and contribute a lot more to the team."
2014 will be Caldwell's seventh season in the NFL. He spent his first four with Cincinnati.
In his career so far, Caldwell has appeared in 75 regular-season games. With the Broncos, he has tallied 17 receptions for 218 yards and three touchdowns.
Details of the two-year contract were not included in the team's announcement.
