Barring an audible, a tribute beer to Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning will make its debut in Denver in March.

Oatmaha, a collaboration between Denver’s Factotum Brewhouse’s and Indianapolis’ Tow Yard Brewing Co., will be unveiled at Collaboration Fest on March 19, 2016 at Sports Authority Field at Mile High. The beer was initially released in Indianapolis before the Broncos-Colts’ matchup on Nov. 8. Brewers from Tow Yard are coming to Denver to help brew the Colorado batch on Jan. 11.

The brew’s name is a reference to Manning’s oft-used “Omaha” pre-snap calls. Oatmaha contains oats to represent the horse-themed mascots of the two teams in which he’s played for (Colts and Broncos) during his professional career. To define Indiana, the brewers incorporated corn, while sage expresses Colorado.

Other names, including “The Sheriff” and “Rocket-laser Arm,” were considered, Factotum co-owner Laura Bruns said. Manning’s name and likeness was avoided for legal reasons.

“Omaha — it was cheeky and it was simple,” Bruns said.
