DENVER - The Denver Broncos selected running back Montee Ball in the second round with the 58th overall pick. Ball was a 2-time All-American at Wisconsin who finished his collegiate career with 5,140 rushing yards and 77 rushing touchdowns.
Broncos Executive VP of Football Operations John Elway tweeted that Ball is a "good size back who had tremendous production in college. Will add great dimension to run game."
The team tweeted that Coach John Fox said, "We view him as a 3-down back that will be a great fit. He has top-flight character & we’re pleased to add him to the Broncos.”
Ball told reporters at February's NFL Combine that he models his game after Broncos great Terrell Davis.
