Manning, Clady, Bailey, Woodyard and Bruton named Broncos team captains for 2013 season

DENVER - The Denver Broncos named Peyton Manning, Ryan Clady, Champ Bailey, Wesley Woodyard and David Bruton team captains for the 2013 season, which begins Thursday.

Bailey, a cornerback, is the longest-tenured player on the Broncos. This is his seventh season as team captain.

For Woodyard, a linebacker, this will be his fifth season as team captain. Additionally, he served as a game captain during his rookie season in 2008.

Manning, who is entering his sixteenth NFL season, was also named a team captain last year. It will be his twelfth overall season as a team captain, including ten with Indianapolis.

Clady, a tackle, and Bruton, a safety, will both be serving as captains for the first time.

The newly-named captains will lead the Broncos against the Baltimore Ravens in the NFL season opener on Thursday.
