DENVER - The Denver Broncos will know who their playoff opponent will be by mid-Sunday afternoon.
With the Indianapolis Colts 45-44 comeback victory over the Kansas City Chiefs on Saturday means that Denver will host the Colts or the San Diego Chargers next Sunday.
If the No. 6 seed Chargers can pull the upset over the No. 3 seed Cincinnati Bengals at Paul Brown Stadium on Sunday, then the Broncos will host the Chargers.
If the Bengals beat the Chargers, then the Broncos will host the Colts and the Bengals will go on the road to face the No. 2 seed New England Patriots on Jan. 11.
Since the Broncos are the No. 1 seed in the AFC playoffs, they play the lowest remaining seed in the Divisional Round.
The Broncos first loss of the season came on Oct. 20 against the Colts 39-33 in Indianapolis.
Denver was 1-1 against San Diego in the season series. The Broncos and Chargers have never played each other in the postseason.
The Broncos Divisional Round game is scheduled for 2:40 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 12.
